Follow-up to Karelia, Russia
As follow-up to the very successful visit to Karelia, Russia in 2007, the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), Office of International Programs (OIP), invited four Russian officials from the Republic of Karelia Ministry of Construction to the United States to meet with Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) representatives. This visit is part of a technology exchange program between Karelia, Russia, the Tennessee Department of Transportation and the FHWA. At this visit TDOT and the Ministry signed a collaboration program that summarizes the technology exchange activities for the next two years. Areas of focus include highway maintenance, contract management, incident management, construction materials and technology.
