Figure 14. Graphs of mean and mode in normal and lognormal distributions. Both graphs have cost or duration on the x-axis and probability on the y-axis. In the normal probability distribution graph, mode and mean are at the same point at the top of the bell-shaped curve. In the lognormal graph, mode is at the top of the skewed curve and mean is about halfway down the right side of the curve.
