Middle East ProgramKuwaitCoordination between FHWA's Office of International Programs (OIP), the State Department and the American Embassy in Kuwait, resulted in the renewal of a Consulting Services Agreement (CSA) between FHWA and the Kuwait Ministry of Public Works. With the revitalized agreement in place, U.S. DOT personnel were deployed to Kuwait to work with the Ministry of Public Works on a variety of highway transportation development activities. In July 2008 the Kuwait Ministry of Public Works and the Texas Department of Transportation will be entering into a partnering relationship whereby Kuwaiti officials will be able to receive on the job training and participate in professional development courses in Texas. FHWA will assist in the coordination of activities and facilitate information sharing activities between the partners. The new relationship will provide transportation professionals in Kuwait with access to a host of professional development opportunities and strengthen the overall relationship between Kuwait and the Federal Highway Administration. |
