Iraq

The Office of International Programs (OIP) is working closely with Iraqi Ministry of Construction and Housing officials to facilitate transportation technology exchange between the U.S. and Iraq. A non-binding Memorandum of Cooperation between USDOT and the Ministry signed in 2006, serves as the umbrella agreement under which technology exchange activities are taking place. Activities to be carried out in 2008 include the proposed creation of a technology exchange center in Baghdad. This will be the first of its kind in the region.
